NAWAB - ODUNSE

Here’s introducing “That Nigerian Rapper” - Nawab! A professional screenwriter by day - Big Man, a short film which he is assistant producer and script supervisor on has been selected for screening by both the Los Angeles Film Festival and the Huesca Film Festival - and a burgeoning Hip-Hop artist by night, Nawab - real name Gbolahan Akitunde - fell in love with Hip-Hop music after listening to the album Stillmatic by Nas and picked up the pen and pad to write his first rap verse when he was only fifteen.

Education and university commitments soon got in the way of Nawab’s dream of becoming a Hip-Hop star and his rap career seemed only like a distant memory for long periods in his adult life. However, after graduated from Law School in 2010 and becoming a professional screenwriter early 2012, the stars have now become perfectly aligned for Nawab to step into the Nigerian Hip-Hop arena and become the phenomenal rapper he first set out to be when I was fifteen.

Nawab’s undying passion and goal is to advance Nigerian rap to the highest pedestal which it has long deserved but has long eluded it... Let's get it!!!
