TERRY later hooked up with a DJ friend and the instrumentals supplied by the DJ helped TERRY to sharpen his SKILLS. In 1994 after finishing secondary school at the Federal Government College, Minna, TERRY THA RAPMAN pushed out some DEMOS that drew the attention of Kaduna underground scene to the budding RAPPER. With the Kaduna religious crisis in the year 2000, the MADAKI family relocated to Jos where TERRYgot a call from SOLO DEE, CEO Payback Tyme Records, asking to sign on the rapper. With tertiary education completed in the prestigious Federal Government Polytechnic, Kaduna where he bagged a HND in Mass Communication,

(Sporadic Words And Tactics, Rhyming on our terms). Unfortunately for the group, the albums recorded never dropped as a result of poor management.

Following the unfavorable developments, TERRY THA RAPMAN dropped out of the label along with others, relocated to Lagos and signed with CHARLES NOVIAs November Records joining heavy weights like Majek Fashek and Esse Egese. It is through this label that Tha Rapman Beginz LP got delivered to the public as TERRY’s debut album. Though the album did not enjoy proper promotion and distribution, it still got TERRY nominations for BEST RAP ALBUM at the HIP HOP World Awards and NIGERIA Music Awards in the year 2007.
TERRY THA RAPMAN did not rest on his oars. He has kept his craft as number one priority and has performed at live shows which include the revered STAR MEGA JAM alongside KANYE WEST and T-PAIN. He has also featured at the Nite of Hip Hop at Clarke Quay Area in Singapore. He was also on the Glo Campus Tour in Ilorin, Kwara State. Currently on Megaphunk records,

After popularizing the album title into a street slogan that has seriously caught on with the youths, the first single off the album was released. It is called ‘Sample’ with the remix featuring PHEROWSHUZ and STEREOMAN making it to video. The hit single won the Best Rap Single at Hip Hop World Awards 2010. This year alone,he has been nominated for the best rap act. At the NEA awards in new york,city people awards.The follow-up singles, Boyz r not smiling and boyz don hammer both have top several charts across the nation and cementing the Boyz r not smiling brand in the heart of nigerians in disapora. With an hat trick of nominations in the coming hiphop world awards and registering the bans slogan in the urban dictionary the industry is about to take a new turn as tha rapman redesigns another era .
