SASHA - DON'T STOP

          SASHA real name "  ANTHONIA YETUNDE ALABI",   was born  May 21, in Lagos Island ,LAGOS, NIGERIA.  She's a native of ADO EKITI, EKITI STATE.  SASHA. is the  first Nigerian female artiste to win the coveted BEST FEMALE award at MTV Africa Music Awards (MAMA) 2010 has consistently proven to be a true INTERNATIONAL ambassador of NIGERIAN music.  Fondly referred to as “THE FIRST LADY OF NIGERIAN HIP HOP” ,   
            SASHA has remained relevant for the past 9 (nine) years and has blossomed into one of the biggest female brands in AFRICA.  She has enjoyed mainstream success for her singles off  her soon to be released sophomore album SASHA SPEAKS. "Put it down" Featuring DAMA DO BLING from Mozambique won the online MAOMA (Museke African Online music Awards (AUG 2010) for best collaboration and was nominated as Best African collaboration at the O2 African Music awards in the UK and Best Hip hop video at the  SOUNDCITY Awards  (Nov 2010)in Nigeria, and "Making Money Remix" for Best West  African Video at the CHANNEL O awards OCT 2010.Without a doubt she has earned the respect of her peers from her dedication , hard work and stellar performances some of which include sharing and opening stages with both international and home- grown talent such as P DIDDY, R KELLY, SHAKIRA ,RIHANNA,  JOHN LEGEND, KELLY ROWLAND, P'SQUARE, TUFACE , and EVE to name a few.
            SASHA  had an amazing  2010 performing at all major events which included the SAMSUNG Valentine concert (FEB 2010), a successful SOUTH AFRICA tour during the world cup where she was also one of the priviledged few to perform in 3D courtesy the SONY 3D stage in Sandton, South Africa (July - Aug 2010), The 7up Rock the mic concert(Sep 2010) , Channel O awards OCT 2010), Soundcity Awards (November 2010) to name a few and crowned off the year with a world class performance at the MTV African music awards  alongside South African heavy weights Tear gas and well reknowned International female rapper Eve (December  2010!)
            As Creative director/ designer of her own clothing label (Eclectic by SASHA) and International Ambassador for  the budding Nigerian owned shoe design label TUTTI DOLCE based in Atlanta USA, She remains arguably one of the busiest artists in Nigeria but she always makes time to give back to the community which she believes made her who she is " I believe as an individual , I have a social responsibility to make a difference any way I can" , and his she has done consistently over the years, she was part of the "Save a street child" campaign a Mo Abudu intitative, "Maternal Mortality" project initiated by renowned Nigerian Fuji musician KWAM 1 to educate and help cater to the needs of young mothers who seek adequate health care and the “Cool2vote “ campaign to sensitize the youth about the importance of participating in the on going elections in Nigeria.
             Not one to rest on her laurels , SASHA in conjunction with STORM records released the final promotional singles (January 2011) before the album  release  “Don’t stop” ( an alternative pop influenced dance record) and “Ma Wo be “ featuring prolific singer BRYMO  which has already made the top ten African radio chart on South Africa radio ! She  enthuses " I feel very blessed for the opportunity to  have worked/collaborated with a lot of talented people, I believe the album is definitely a body of work everyone can relate to and I can't wait to share it with the world and most especially my FANS!"  Without a doubt she has lived up to her name and all the world awaits the FIRST LADY to keep taking them by storm.
